New Book Called The boy in the striped pyamas

Hi now I'm reading a new book called The boy in the striped pyamas written by John Boyne.

Question

1) What have we learn about the main character in the opening chapters?

The main character in called Bruno he  is around nine ears old and has moved from Berlin to a house at the countryside with his Mum Dad and the hopples case his sister. He really don't understand why they have to move from the beautiful house in Berlin and he want's to go back

2) What can you predict about the future importance of this person?

I think he will find a friend too play with. The people that his parents don't want him to play with.

What evidence in the text helped you to make this prediction?

becuse he really dont understand that his dad is a soldier that take care of judes. And Bruno can see that over the rail on the other side of the field is children that he can play with His Parents don't like that.

Task D

The author of the book is John Marsden who lives in Australia. His bestseller book is the first of this series who published 1996.The story of the book take place in a little village called Wirrawee in the south of Australia.

It is about six teenagers called Elli who is the storyteller Homer who is the “leader” Lee, Robyn, Sofia called Fi, Chris and that is two more called Corrie and Kevin who is gone and they are trying to rescue them

All the teenagers are out for camp in a couple of days, and when they return back to one of their houses, it doesn’t look the same that it did when they leaved. Their parents are gone, the animals are dead and the electricity doesn’t work. And it is the same in the whole area.

After some search they get to know that Australia has been occupied by guerilla soldier, and their parents and two of their best friends who didn´t camp is in a Showground who is guarded by soldiers.

They start a group called Hell to fought and save their little village because they are the only nice people there. This is a book who characterizes their life under the time, and what happens at the time whit them. Too be 15 years old and had seen so many dead bodies must have been terrifying 

They are going to live a normal life as good as possible, and at the same time try to protect the Wirrawee. They start to think as a group and the most important is to save their own life’s and rescue they parents, Kevin and Corrie and other people who they love

This is the second book of a series of 7 and it is a continuation of who is called Tomorrow when the war begun.  

I think it is very weird that a mail author can write a story where the storyteller and main character is a girl. He explains her feelings so good and I think that is very cool.

Reading log 2

His smooth skin looked as if no razor had ever touched it. I had to remind myself urgently, harshy, that he was a potential rapist, a potential killer. At the same time I knew I couldn't kill him,

5 of the teenager have now escaped from a village were the guerilla soldiers have occupied. But one of them was persecuted, by one soldier. when they think they are safe, Fi is coming running, terrified and chashed by the soldier.
Then the other teenager hit him with a rock and he fall down on the ground.
I pick this quote becuse it really shows how the teenagers can do everything for eachother.
It explanes how their frendship is...

Impression of the book so far

Now I am at chapter 15 of 17 and I think the book is very exiting. it happen things all the time and the autour can really catch the reader.
I can recognize me in some of the main caracters. mostly in the girl who tells the story.
The story tellers name is Ellie and shi is the "leader" togheter with Homer. The book is about 8 teenagers who is trying to remove the guerilla soldiers who have conquered Australia. They have start an associating called Hell.
The teenager is called Ellie, Robyn, Homer, Lee, Fi, Chris, Corrie and Kevin
Corrie and Kevin isn't a part of the main caracters in this book becuse Corrie has been shot and is in a coma.
And Kevin has been kidnappt by the soldiers.
I think it is Amazing that a male author can write as a girl. he really make the caracter real.

the book

This book is the second book in a serie of 7 the first book is called "Tomorrow when the war began"
and The dead of night is a sequel of the first book. So it islike you came in in a middle of the story when you start on this book. so I prefer that if you should read this book then start with the first.
I like the book, it happen many things but it was a quite boring in the beginning. After a while it start to
happen things.
they have done a film of this bookserie  and it had premiere at the cinemas in Austrailia 8 og August 2010

and it will come to Sweden 4 of april 2011.

Reading log

" I was scared that finding Corrie dead would be the end of me. I didn´t know how it would finish me; I just had this deep belief that I could not continue living if my mate Corrie had been killed by bullet fired by an invading army in the middle of a war."

This quote take place outside Corries house, his house is in ruinres and Robyn think she's dead. The house had been attacked by soldiers. Robyn and Chris is standing outside and they don't know if Corrie is dead or not.
I chose this quote becuse I think it was very emotional. The caracters seems very sad and it was a very sad quote.

First impressions

Now I have read the first chapter in the book.

The story take place during a war. So far it hasn't happen so much in the first chapter. the book is the second book of 3 the first book is called tomorrow when the war begain,
They have presented the main characters in the book,
and they are Kevin, Corrie, Lee, Homer and the girl who is telling the story but I don't know what her name is.
